Students who complete the course will gain the nationally recognised Level 3 Award in Education and Training Certificate.
Which is a widely used qualification which has enhanced and replaced the older but popular PTLLS qualification.
This course is intended for those who would like to start teaching or who are already involved in teaching but need a nationally recognised qualification for their career development.
Course delivery by small groups, tutorials and individual work. Its an informal class style to encourage delegates to contribute and enjoy the course, fully supported by the tutor.
Your tutor has 30 years teaching experience in voluntary, public and private sector education and is currently employed as a Senior lecturer and programme lead in a UK university.
Providers of vocational training in the UK must usually have an entry level teaching qualification as a minimum in order to teach regulated qualifications. The award is designed for the private training industry, college and as an entry level to teaching in university's, and covers the generic teaching skills and qualities that are required in becoming an effective and successful teacher/trainer.
The Level 3 Award in Education and Training (PTLLS) course is designed to teach you the skills and qualities required to become a good teacher and to develop a successful learning environment.
We specialise in outdoor and medical education. However this course teaches you the fundamental teaching principles, that can be applied to forest school, bush craft and other outdoor education as well as mainstream classroom teaching in any subject.
The course will give you the confidence and knowledge to teach and how to set up an effective and inclusive learning environment.

Delivery
Topics include; roles and responsibilities, legislation, professional boundaries, inclusion, differentiation, teaching and learning theory, lesson planning and delivery, assessment, evaluation, professional standards and professional development. Candidates should be prepared to prepare, deliver sessions and evaluate each other.
Assessment
The course is assessed through a reflective portfolio of evidence, written assessments and you will be required to deliver a 15 minute micro teach session. This can be recorded or delivered via a webinar with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Skype etc
